RIPDAYDREAM: When diving through your discography you have been releasing songs since 2020 which was a weird time for the world as a whole with the pandemic. Did you begin making music because of the isolation from regular life or did your music journey start way earlier?

MOD: A little bit of both, when I first started making music I was writing poems, and my good friend Jay aka Mamas Boy helped me say one of them in a way I hadn’t before, after he, Ceyz, and Yay aka Arcadia gave me beats to spit on, leading to me wanting to release music but shortly after it was COVID which lead to mornings at home.

__

RIPDAYDREAM: Who is MOD? Why do you create music and what are your aspirations?

MOD: MOD is many things: the main one is the embodiment of self expression, someone who lives life on his own terms, a rockstar, role model, but the main one is an artist, my dad was a DJ when I was growing up and well known one in Europe at that, music has and always will be a part of my life, from giving me first hand looks at scratching, mixing and front row stage looks at the big leagues I’ve always known I was going to be on a stage no matter how big or small, MY GOAL IS TO BECOME THE BIGGEST ARTIST THE WORLDS EVER SEEN SINCE FRANKIE AND QUEEN GIVING A PERFORMANCE THAT CANT BE DENIED SHOCKER THE WORLD WITH A NEW LIFE FOR ENTERTAINMENT.

RIPDAYDREAM: I have always been a fan of artists who aren't afraid to jump from genre to genre. Your latest release, 'War', is categorized as rock and has a very Rage Against The Machines vibe. In contrast, a lot of your music is Hip Hop or Pop and I am curious about what draws you to step into other sounds.

MOD: Honestly while growing up I was exposed to multiple different genres of music especially with my dad being a DJ, with that being said I’ve always loved all genres of music and wanted to showcase that with my music, anytime I make a track I ask myself if I’d listen to it if I were still my younger self.

__

RIPDAYDREAM: Is there a specific message or feeling you aim to convey through your music, regardless of the genre you're working within?

MOD: DON'T BE AFRAID TO DREAM AND BE YOURSELF, feel how you feel but at the end of the day we’re all stars in our own regard, and no matter the odds if you believe in something and follow your heart you are bound for greatness.

RIPDAYDREAM: I was instantly drawn to your song 'Doom', and was curious what artists have influenced your creative process in making music.

MOD: THATS SO SICK thank you for real, my main influences ever since I was a snotty nose were OFWGKTA (Tyler the creator, Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, Mellow Hype), MF DOOM, Queen, various alternative bands, T. rex, tears of fears, grizzled bears, Childish Gambino is a main one and of course Mac miller.

__

RIPDAYDREAM: With such an influx of music being posted every day how do you set yourself apart and stay authentic to yourself?

MOD: That’s a tough one because to stand out you have to be seen, at shows you can always catch me in a crop top performing with insane wardrobe choices, when posting videos I always either try my abstract layering or just saying/ talking about things I hold true to my heart, when creating or collaborating I try to get everyone evolved to dig deep and try things they never have, WHICH IS THE ESSENCE OF MOD SOMETHING NO ONES SEEN BEFORE.

RIPDAYDREAM: Can you give us a sneak peek into any upcoming projects or collaborations you're working on?

MOD: HELL YEAH, a new project called SPEEEEED will be out soon which talks about my carelessness in my use BUT A SICK ONE NONETHELESS, a collab track with 24hrs himself called Blue Flame which is a remix of one of my better received songs called Twin Flame, a flurry more coming out with local artists ranging from all ends of the genre spectrum.
